Information- and Communication Technology in Europe
In late 2009 a European conference on digital competence and e-skills took place in Brussels. The focus of this conference was the degree to which both the public at large and enterprises have gained sufficient e-skills. A successful implementation of an e-skills strategy in Europe is considered of great importance within the Lisbon strategy as a part of lifelong learning strategies. The conference brought together experts from governments, academia, ICT industry, ICT professional bodies and other stakeholders.
In light of this conference and given the recent release of new data on information and communication technology by Eurostat, the EDS European Data Service offers a wide range of data and publications on this topic below.
