Key indicators: Germany's position in the EU
An overview table of key statistical indicators offers an insight into Germany's current position within the EU. Theme by theme the
tables included in the table highlight in which areas Germany belongs to the leading Member States and where further effort is required to meet European targets laid down by the European Commission in the Lisbon strategy.
The table includes representative indicators on topics such as demography, living conditions, knowledge-based society, employment, economy, energy and environment.
For each indicator the most recent statistical figures are presented for Germany and the European Union as a whole, whilst highlighting Germany's
position within the EU. For each indicator a table with values for all EU Member States is available for download.
All figures are taken from the Eurostat Online Database and were extracted in December 2008.
