Database on sustainable development: In order to measure progress towards a more sustainable European Union, Eurostat has published a database featuring sustainable development indicators. In most cases time series are available for the period 1990 to 2005.

Structural indicators on environment: At the Lisbon European Council in March 2000 the European Union set strategic goals for the next decade. These goals included a number of environmental targets, which Eurostat monitors using a range of statistical indicators.
